01Who we are
Evinor (“we,” “us”) turns public news into typed, deduplicated events. This policy covers the Evinor web application and related services.
02Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up, authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google). Depending on how you sign in, this includes your email address and, if you use Google sign-in, your name and profile photo.
- Profile information. Details associated with your account, such as your display name and, if you provide them, your phone number and photo.
- Product data. The Sensors and Watchlists you create, including their configuration and the entities you choose to track.
- Technical information. Your IP address (used to keep the service secure and to enforce rate limits) and basic device and browser information collected when errors occur.
We don’t collect payment card details — there is no self-serve purchasing today.
03Cookies
Evinor uses only two cookies, both strictly functional:
__sessionkeeps you signed in. It is HttpOnly and expires after about two weeks.theme-color-moderemembers your light or dark theme preference for about a year.
We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
04How we use your information
- Provide the service — sign you in, run your Sensors, and research the entities on your Watchlists.
- Keep it secure — prevent abuse and enforce rate limits and quotas.
- Improve and maintain the product — diagnose errors and monitor performance.
- Communicate with you — respond to your requests and send service-related messages.
05Where your data is processed
Evinor is hosted on Google Cloud Platform and MongoDB Atlas, in Canada. We rely on a small set of third-party providers (sub-processors) to run the service:
- Authentication — Firebase (Google).
- AI extraction and entity research — large-language-model providers and web-search and reference services (including Wikipedia) that help us structure incidents and research the entities you add.
- Infrastructure and storage — Google Cloud, MongoDB Atlas, and related managed data services.
- Monitoring and error reporting — application-performance and error-tracking providers.
These providers process data on our behalf under agreements that require appropriate safeguards. We do not sell your personal information.
06Data retention
We keep your account and product data for as long as your account is active, and for as long afterwards as we need it for legitimate operational, legal, or security reasons. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
07Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us at hi@evinor.aiand we’ll respond within a reasonable time.
08Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and the security features of our cloud providers. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to address issues promptly.
09Children’s privacy
Evinor is a business product and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know.
